Trailer Mode is a weekly series featuring the most interesting trailers we’ve spotted in the wild.
Battlefield 6
Battlefield’s back, baby!
(There’s nothing I can say that the trailer doesn’t. Just watch.)

A multiplayer reveal trailer is scheduled for the end of the month.
Now for the rest of the programming…
Alabaster Dawn
The trailer for this gorgeous 2.5D action RPG has me very excited for its launch. The handcrafted, pixel-art graphics and animations seem incredibly detailed and interactive, and combat appears weighty and fluid. Alabaster Dawn has no release date yet but a demo is expected in September. This one’s going in my Wishlist till then.
Borderlands 4 – Official Vex ‘Purple Friday’ Character Story
If you had any hope, however slim, that Borderlands 4 would have better writing than the three games that preceded it, prepare for said hopes to be dashed. The ‘Character Story’ for Vex, a playable siren-class vault hunter in the upcoming game is vapid enough to make Borderlands 3 seem like a masterclass in creative writing. The one saving grace is that Vex has a cat (that may or may not like belly rubs).
Still, assuming gameplay is appropriately mindless and frenetic, the game might just be worth playing.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival (Warning: NSFW)
If gimp suits, gore, and ‘consensual mutilation’ are your thing, you’re probably going to love Hellraiser: Revival. Depending on the level of innate masochism driving you, the glimpes of gameplay in this 90-second trailer will either make your stomach churn or your toes curl. Pinhead returns (with none other than Doug Bailey doing the acting) in this new chapter in the Hellraiser franchise.
The game is only listed as ‘Coming Soon’, which we hope means sometime in 2025.
Cronos: The New Dawn – Official Sector A-0 Gameplay
Cronos has been on my radar since the first cinematic trailer dropped. If the latest gameplay trailer is any indicator, this upcoming third-person survival horror game is shaping up to be a — as handsome, 5’11” journalist Harsh Pareek would put it — ‘banger’. The latest trailer shows off some fairly epic combat sequences and the measured pacing that will be defining gameplay. Cronos: The New Dawn is expected later this year.
Fallout: Bakersfield
I never thought I’d be so excited for a new Fallout game, yet here we are. While not officially Fallout, Fallout: Bakersfield is a fan-made total conversion for Doom (the original, 1993 Doom) that is entirely free and looks far better than anything Bethesda could ever dream of making (even with all of Microsoft’s billions). Unfortunately, there’s no release date for this title at this time.
Subnautica 2
For a game mired in controversy — alleged libel and a lawsuit over a missed $250 million payment — Subnautica 2 looks very pretty and compelling in this new trailer. There’s a new world and ecosystem to explore, more immersion, and for the first time: co-op. I’m excited for this game but I can only hope that the legal issues are resolved in time for release, which is expected to happen in 2026 at the earliest.
