Mukti, underDOGS Studio’s upcoming narrative adventure, gets gameplay trailer

The first gameplay trailer for Indian indie game developer underDOGS’s upcoming narrative adventure title Mukti is here! Set in a first-person perspective, the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC in the future. The game is part of Sony’s India Hero Project, and underDOGS Studio has been working with with the Japanese giant to bring Mukti to life for over a year.

The events of Mukti are set against the backdrop of a mid-2000s India, with players essaying the role of Arya, a young woman searching for her grandfather in a sprawling museum he owns. Players will piece together the mystery of his disappearance while uncovering harrowing truths and hidden narratives that encompass a variety of themes including human trafficking.

“Being a part of the Sony India Hero Project didn’t just give us fuel to bring our vision to life, it also reaffirmed our belief that Indian stories belong on the world stage,” says Mukti game director and underDOGS Studio founder and CEO Vaibhav Chavan, “Now, we’re thrilled to finally give you a glimpse of what we’ve been crafting behind the scenes.”

underDOGS Studio began life as a browser-based game developer, and is now focussed on bringing its first-person narrative adventure, Mukti to PS5 and PC. The company has worked on over 250 games across platforms since being founded in 2011 by Disney Indiagames veteran Chavan.

Mukti PS5 Features

Built to harness the power of the PS5 and PS5 Pro, Mukti‘s immersive environments, intense sequences, and emotionally-driven scenes are best experienced in 4K. underDOGS Studio is also working closely with PlayStation to ensure haptics and adaptive triggers — key features of Sony’s iconic PS5 DualSense controller are tuned to enhance the experience such subtle vibrations during moments of quiet puzzle-solving.

Mukti PC Specifications

underDOGS Studio has revealed the tentative specifications for the PC version of Mukti. They are as follows:

– Processor: Intel Core i5-9400F or better or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 or better
– Memory: 8 GB RAM
– Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 570 (4 GB) or RX 6400
– Storage: 40 GB available space

Recommended
– Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
– OS: Windows 11
– Processor: Intel Core i7-12700K or better or AMD Ryzen 7 7700 or better
– Memory: 16 GB RAM
– Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (16 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT (12 GB)
– Storage: 40 GB available space

The Steam version of Mukti will also support achievements, family sharing, and will have full controller support.
